Welcome to the Pennefather Rowing Club

The Pennefather Club is named after Harold Pennefather who gave many years of service to rowing at Caulfield , being involved from the time of Caulfield’s entry into the APS until his retirement in 1969.

The Pennefather Rowing Club committee aims to provide support for the Caulfield Grammar School Boat Club and the Director of Rowing, through fundraising initiatives (such as the CGS Regatta, C2 Ergo Championships), information dissemination and, most importantly, race day vocal support. All CGS rowing parents are welcome to join the PFC.

Pennefather.com.au is designed to be a one stop information station on all rowing activities at CGS.

Introducing 2008 to 2009: The Rowing Season.

The 2008 season is completed. Now as the students enjoy a well earned rest planning of the 2008 to 2009 campaign has commenced. There are a couple of items and key dates to keep the eyes open for as we head into winter.

PRE SEASON STRENGTH TRAINING - POSTPONED

Our strength and conditioning coach Mark Jansz will be commencing gym training for senior athletes on the morning of TBC. This training will be a crucial element for year 10 and 11 students seeking to compete in the coming season. Strength training over the coming months will assist students to develop physically into competitive, and athletic individuals. Developing this base level of fitness will assist the growing of students into athletes.

For those students who wish to take their rowing seriously this coming season, this is a prime oppertunity. Developing physically takes time. The program is cutting edge to give the students as many opportunities to be exposed to elite sports training and achieve racing successes.
